Fresh aftershock hits Yunnan Province

KUNMING: A moderate but acutely felt aftershock jolted southwest China's Yunnan Province early Monday after a 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the area Thursday evening.

 The 4.7 magnitude quake rocked Yao'an County at 00:01 am in Yunnan Province and lasted about 10 seconds.

There are no immediate reports of deaths and injuries from the aftershock, but the major quake has killed one people and injured 367, including 31 critically.

Rescuers have finished evacuating all the 255,000 people in danger to safe places by Sunday after Thursday's earthquake, local authorities said. The people have been relocated to tents, makeshift houses or homes of relatives.

After Thursday's quake, a total of 30,832 houses collapsed and another 625,000 were damaged. A total of 800 aftershocks have been reported.
